P&S Choir

Founded in January 1999, the P&S Choir is a co-ed group of 20-25 singers representing all schools of the Columbia University Medical Center Campus. We are devoted to performing diverse, challenging, and fun pieces while promising low-key, low-stress rehearsals once a week (typically Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Bard Hall music rooms off the Bard Hall lounge). We love what we do and truly enjoy singing and socializing together. We have two major performances per year: a holiday concert in early December, and a spring concert held in late April or early May. In the past, we have performed at Head Start Benefit Concerts and P&S Coffeehouses, and during the holiday season we have gone caroling in Millstein Hospital. Our musical repertoire ranges from ballads to madrigals to folk pieces and contemporary classics. Pop music occasionally filters in as well - a recent concert included a fantastic piece by Billy Joel. Over the years we have performed pieces by Palestrina, Monteverdi, Purcell, Handel, Biebl, Brahms, and many others.

Auditions are held in September (and often in January, as well) and are open to all.
