The goal of Clinical Practice III is to foster the continuing development of the skills of doctor patient communication and professionalism in the context of the third year clinical rotations.  Discussion sessions co-led by clinical practice preceptor and clerkship faculty focus on the emerging concept of the doctor-patient relationship (Medicine clerkship), professional values and the "culture" of the operating room (Anesthesiology clerkship), the appreciation of multiple perspectives in situations of conflict (Pediatrics clerkship), and the intense emotional responses in clinical work (Psychiatry clerkship), and further sessions are under development. Students are asked to prepare brief written reflections prior to the shared group reflection.
