Over the past years, BALSO members have been active in the Presbyterian Hospital Community Health Council, Harlem and Washington Heights community health fairs, volunteering at a local food pantry in a Washington Heights church, and as advisors to high school and college students interested in medical careers. Also, BALSO has raised funds for disaster victims, sponsored clothes drives for women’s shelters in Harlem and sponsored a variety of cultural and seminar activities in celebration of Black and Latin History months. BALSO holds business meetings monthly and all are invited. For further information call 305-4157.
