AMWA is an advocate for women's health issues from both patient and
caregiver perspectives. We promote recognition and appreciation of
women's contributions to medicine of the past, present, and future.
AMWA believes that all women's perspectives and concerns regarding
medicine and health care must be heard. We recognize the importance of
a women's support network and sense of community in the pursuit of
improving health care in its constant evolution.

AMWA also arranges and sponsors The Women's Health Interest Group
which organizes lunches, talks and trips to promote awareness and
increase knowledge of medical students about women's health.
